Our Mission

To give every individual the ability to access, understand, and control their personal health information through secure, open-standards technology.

Health data is deeply personal, yet for most people it is scattered across multiple provider portals, locked behind different logins, and presented in formats that are difficult to navigate. When you switch doctors, move to a new city, or simply need your records at an appointment, getting your own health information should not be an ordeal.

Round Table System was built to solve this problem. We connect directly to your healthcare providers' electronic health record systems using the FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) standard, the same interoperability framework mandated by federal regulation for patient data access. This means your medical records, lab results, medications, and care history are available in one place, under your control, whenever you need them.

What We Believe

Your Data Belongs to You

You have a legal and moral right to your own health information. We exist to make that right practical and easy to exercise. We never sell, monetize, or share your health data.

Privacy Is Non-Negotiable

Health data requires the highest standard of care. We encrypt everything, implement strict access controls, and handle your information with the rigor expected of organizations in regulated healthcare environments.

Open Standards Matter

Proprietary lock-in has no place in healthcare. We build on HL7 FHIR and SMART on FHIR because open, interoperable standards benefit patients and improve the healthcare ecosystem for everyone.

Simplicity Over Complexity

Managing your health data should be straightforward. We focus on clear design, intuitive navigation, and presenting your information in ways that are easy to understand.

Technology

Round Table System connects to healthcare providers using the HL7 FHIR standard, the modern API specification for health data interoperability. Our integrations support Epic MyChart and other FHIR-enabled electronic health record systems, which together serve the majority of hospital-based patients in the United States.

When you connect a provider, you authenticate directly with their patient portal using the SMART on FHIR authorization protocol (built on OAuth 2.0). Your portal credentials are never seen or stored by Round Table System. We receive only the authorization tokens necessary to retrieve your records on your behalf, and you can revoke access at any time.

Our platform is built with modern web technologies, hosted on secure infrastructure within the United States, and designed with security as a foundational requirement rather than an afterthought.

Background

Round Table System was founded by Ken Vermeer in Chanhassen, Minnesota. The platform grew out of a practical need: managing health records across multiple providers and family members was unnecessarily difficult, even though the underlying technology and regulatory framework to solve it already existed.

The 21st Century Cures Act and the ONC Interoperability Rule established that patients have the right to access their health data through standardized APIs. Round Table System makes that right actionable by providing a secure, well-designed platform for individuals to exercise it.
